Hey Andrew,
I've bought 15 of these tubs so far! I've got them from 3 different cities
(over 100 miles apart) in order to see if there is a difference in what you get.
So far, it does seem to make a difference, but I've also found that just about
every bag is different. I've compared the bags closely and I haven't found any
bag that is identical. Some are real close, but there is always some small
piece or a different number of pieces per color, etc.! I'm pretty amazed by
that! The only thing that seems to be consistant is the loose four 8x16
baseplates that come loose in every box. There is always 1 each of these in
green, white, light yellow, and light green as far as I can tell.
As for the parts that aren't available in sets, that would be hard to do as I'm
not that familiar with all sets to make that judgement. In fact, I would think
that almost all of these are left-overs from sets and therefore have been
available in some form or another.
Some parts, such as the brown and green minifig heads, are obviously from sets,
but lacking the printing that would have been applied before using them in the
sets. That makes them fairly unique!
It would be hard to list all the interesting pieces that come with these sets.
It really is a unusual selection. I may see if I can post some pics of the
different parts for a reference although I'm not ready to try and sort all these
out yet.
I hope those that haven't managed to get some of these will be able to find some
and take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free sale going on right now at TRU. I
didn't find out about it until I had already bought a dozen. That makes these
sets even a better bargain!
