I am definately going to have to pay the store a visit. I'm running low on most of my basic gray and black bricks and don't feel like waiting for bricklink, so ill have to grab a few cups. Many of these motors "lock up". I have tossed about four of mine. I have not found any way to repair them. You could try to get Lego to replace it if it is less than a year old. Sorry to hear you got taken on this deal. (22 years ago, 19-Oct-03, to lugnet.general)

Rotate the shaft. It should rotate with some ease. Short the connections on the motor and it should be very hard to rotate the shaft. This will give you a good idea if it is operational. This year we had an outstanding event. I'm happy to report this post mortem message should be substantially shorter than last years due to fewer issues. The space was awesome. Really cool idea. But since I just moved OUT of CA due to the high living cost (the house we'll be building in FL will cost 1/3 of that in the SF Bay area, but will probably double in value in the next 10-20 years due to the local building boom (...)
