  LEGO, Conan O'Brien, TODAY SHOW

Folks, wanted to give everyone a heads up to this before the fact so maybe someone out there can get some nifty screen captures for me... On the NBC TODAY SHOW, Wednesday morning (not sure what time the actual segment will air), there will be a (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, lugnet.announce) !!

  Looking for the author

A couple years ago, after the 911 horror, I found this picture of a mini WTC model. But I did not make notes as to who the author was. Can anyone help me? I created a ldraw model, and I'd like to make the appropriate notation. (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Batman Batcave, Wayne Manor, Batmobile, Batboat, and Figures now Online!

(...) WOW! Lots of details! Great work! I really love the batcave, more than anything else. So true to the batcave in the comics. Great work! Terry (22 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides

(...) Decent poll, unfortunately you missed the option I use: Fully detailed interiors with liftoff sections (I feel this generally actually works better than swing out - swing out is nice for some things though - like if you want to have ceiling (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) This is so cool! I love the small details. The grandfather clock, desk and details, and the kitchen are very very nice. Ben (22 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

I put a story up in my LiveJournal of today's visit to Pick-A-Brick, along with photos of what I got: (URL) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

(...) I considered that, but if you stack your bricks or otherwise arrange them in a generally right-side-up way in the container, they'll trap air bubbles beneath instead of getting filled with water. It still won't be an exact science, but it'll (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

(...) That might overstate it a bit unless you consider the spaces inside a brick that are too small (say the inside of a brick tube for instance) to take anything they sell "wasted". But it certainly might be interesting to track stats on! ++Lar (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

Re: Orlando PaB -- Initial Report

Thank you for having posted that summary of the Orlando PaB! I just got back from there, and the selection is a little different from what you saw last week. Specifically, the bin which used to hold 1x2 clear colorless bricks is now empty, and there (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.fl.orl)

Forgot to mention: They were adverticing for Clickits, I got some samples. I am not that impressed. I got 5, gave the one away which I opened to see what it is.   Report from Lego World Show / Legoshow 2003

Hi all! I was in Finland 2 weeks ago to visit the Legoshow Helsinki. The pictures are here: (URL) went there Saturday morning to see the show at 16 o'clock. They let people in in groups for three hours at a time. I decided to go that late as I could (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.events)

Re: New Shop at Home Catalog!!!

(...) The most interesting thing I gleaned from this catalog is hints as to which of the "S@H only" type sets might be available in stores on a limited basis, like some of the Legend and My Own Train sets at ToysRUs and Target last fall. These newer (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Set Questions

(...) 'Tis true, I should have thought of that. But then, sometimes the value comes out in other ways than just the raw data of what kind of bricks and how many, etc. Thanks Mike. -- Hop-Frog (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Set Questions

(...) Did you check Peeron? (2 URLs) (...) (3 URLs) Well I think that answers most of your questions. I don't know about KT203-7 though. (...) No problem, I am kinda surpised you didn't think of Peeron though. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Set Questions

Hey: I'm planning a large purchase from S@H (I'm doing some catch-up buying in themes of lower interest to me than my usual thing) and I have some questions about some of the sets that are available. If I wanted lot's of usable grey bricks and (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Creating Islands using Container Lids from Dinosaur sets

Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides

(...) The poll's not flawed, just incomplete. The real answer is somewhere in between or a little of both. I often find myself building buildings completely void of interiors for train shows largely because they're for 'show' and won't get much(or (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides

(...) Not flawed, but there are some subtlties that the poll misses. First, I'd imagine that there are many people whose building style depends on the situation. The same person might construct only an exterior for a train show, but do full interior (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)
