Not flawed, but there are some subtlties that the poll misses.
First, I'd imagine that there are many people whose building style depends
on the situation. The same person might construct only an exterior for a
train show, but do full interior detailing for a MOC that is to be
displayed primarily on a dedicated Webpage to fellow enthusiasts.
Second, there are interiors and then there are INTERIORS. For example, I
built a church for a train show that had a presentable interior. There
were no odd ends of bricks sticking in; I laid down a tan carpet; I made a
lectern and a few pews. The interior was an afterthought. Does it even
make sense to conflate this interior and the interior of Amy Hughes's
Abston Church of Christ?
http://www.amyhughes.org/lego/church/
Finally, there is yet another middle ground between empty shells and fully
detailed interiors. Tom Rafert's castle
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=493792
features removable roofs and upper storeys with complete access to all
interior spaces. . .but they're empty (except for stairways). Similarly,
Jon Palmer's _Yoshima_[1]
http://news.lugnet.com/space/?n=26824
features (empty) interior compartments that slide out for interior
accessibility. In both cases, the MOCs do not (currently) have interiors,
but were carefully engineered to allow interiors (and increased
playability) when the builders have the time and inclination.

[1] Can you tell I spent today with Tom and Jon and their MOCs?
