A partial explanation. When we visited LEGOLAND in Billund for the first time (1992), the LEGO Technic University was a popular attraction. Wow. I got my first 4755 at the BOGO50 TRU sale today, and it's worse than I thought. I could MAYBE excuse having 3 different shades spanning specific pieces. i.e., all 1x2s are one shade, all 1x4s another, etc. But no, I stacked the 1x2s, and got 3 (...) Perhaps we need a group on lugnet for talking about BrickShelf. One thing I don't particularly care for about BrickShelf is that when you upload a zip file that has something wrong with it (ie, spaces in the filenames) nothing shows up when you're (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Jake: I think others are doing a great job of listing the elements to keep producing in the classic gray's and brown. I really want to see these available in a bucket or tub format. With respect to the old light grey, I cannot figure out which set cannot be build in the new light grey. I like the new light grey much better.
