It's starting to sound like we can at least staff a partial track; you might
want to revisit it with the organizers.  At the very least, let's try and
get all the games in the same place and maybe try for a consistent time

I shall enquire again.

Chris Weeks - ?? hours, Brik Wars

I'm probably game (get it?) for 24 hours of various LEGO events --
organizing/playing/running/helping/whatever.

Does someone know Steve Jackson well enough to ask him?

Sure, but he won't come.  Gen Con already told me that they won't cover his
room (and he expects travel, room and board to be covered).  I expect he won't
be at the con at all.  SJG doesn't do their own booth anymore, it's farmed out
to an organization that handles product from threeish companies.

Another thing we might want to do is contact LD, and see if they will donate
some prizes or (IMHO, a better plan) sacrifice some K8's to the cause and
have an open play area.  Nothing like a big tub o' parts if we want crowd
appeal.  Or heck, both. :)  One thing an open play area would let us do is
add a "Junk Yard Wars"-style event to the track, which would add to the
'walk-in and stay' power.

I agree.  Do any of us know them particularly, or should I just email Jake?

A session of K8-based Brik Wars for kids would be cool.  In that same note from
the Gen Con lady, she mentioned doing a kid's track of events.  Also, I'll have
at least one kid (the baby, Kivi -- and a wife to help care for her), and I'm
thinking of bringing the almost nine year old for his first con.

Chris

(...) Well, I guess that closes that deal. Of course if we have a firm plan, Steve will be happy to post about the game, which will attract folks. Perhaps we can even get him to donate something for a prize or do something to put his official (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.gaming)

(...) It makes sense for the "most local" person to contact him, so that if K8's are in order, they aren't going to the hinterlands of Canada, say. (...) I've had very positive response from kids and parents about Lego Wars: TSV, and would be (...) (22 years ago, 25-Feb-03, to lugnet.gaming)
