something is giong  on with the cad.dat machinery as on the parts i
have in mo parts folder there are definatly no missing studs.

I've had similar problems myself with cad.dat.  However, I always check
to make sure that the file in cad.dat shows up the same as the one in my
models folder.  I suggest that you do the same, especially before asking
which studs are missing.

3.i would like to propose a vote: how many people vote that parts can
not be made without origonals. i might point out that the two parts of • mine
that appeared in the update were not done form origonals. you know what • my
vote would be.

I think this depends very much on the part.  To make any part from
scratch, I believe you would need the part in hand to be able to see all
the details.  LEGO parts often look like they have certain size details,
but upon closer examination the details are not the size you thought they
were.  However, if you are adding a previously created pattern do a
different part, I can see why you might not need the part.
Please don't depend on LEGO instructions for accurate representations
of parts.  The angles shown may throw off the scale, and instructions
have been known to contain errors.

I think the problem Bram was having was related to some very odd SMTP e-mail problem -- that's the only place we saw it, other than JosephG's and BenV's problems, which were related to a buffer overflow[1].
