Kelly, I hear you, but this is wrong.
I must take a moment to correct your assumption:
If I had to point to one reason over all others as to why I'm doing this right
now, it's because of my husband and our relationship being in jeopardy over my
working on LUGNET. I want to work on LUGNET. I don't want people to think
otherwise. But I'm easily obsessed with the project. It has a hold over me such
that when there's trouble, I'm devistated. It's hard to separate out such a
personal project from the rest of your life, you know? He and I have had an
issue over LUGNET since day one. I thought it would fix itself, but it didn't.
And now I see it won't, or won't in time.
Lacking tech help for development has made me frustrated and sad for years now,
and -that- has taken wind out of my sails. Development was the fun part for me,
but I had Todd then beside me who worked himself to death for no payment. There
simply isn't a replacement for that, and the inner structures of LUGNET are
complex enough, and unique to him, that I'd need a solid working knowledge of
Perl. If I devoted myself to sudying that, my marriage would be in, well,
..whatever. (holding back personal crap)
I'm late now and must go to an appointment. But know that it's my LOVE for
LUGNET that's causing me to -have- to let it go and to do so with a large degree
of finality. It's ironic and very upsetting for me.

(I wish I had more time to write more.. I have to leave for Charleston this very
minute. but will return at about dinner-time with priority of communication here
and at the journal. come back then, ok?)

| (...) Suz, Thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't actually having an issue with what you are doing or why (and in many ways I'm in the same type of situation you are), but more with Scott's assertion that LUGNET is better off because Larry, Frank, (...)
