I care as well.
I love LUGNET.
I love the community here at LUGNET.
I love the discussions I've had (and will continue to have) on LUGNET.
I personally believe that the AFOL community will lose something pretty
spectacular would LUGNET disappear. We'd go on, we'd be fine, and whatever, but
a certain part of my LEGO hobby will be gone and that'll be sad.
I also know that the interent, being what it is, does sometimes fragment
communities instead of building them. For example, if a portion of a community
feels disenfranchised, the internet has a plethora of possibilities for that
disenfranchised group to go start their own thing.
Heck, if my memory is accurate, that's how LUGNET started in teh first
place--people were disenfranchised with rtl. And that's how BZPower showed up,
because the Bionicle folks felt disenfranchised with LUGNET.
All this said, my time on LUGNET has been wonderful and I'm glad it was here.
My enthusiasm for my chosen hobby wouldn't be as intense if it wasn't for this
very site, and the people I've met through it.
So I do care what happens to LUGNET. More importantly, however, I care for the
people involved and want them to make the best decisions for their personal
lives, and whatever decisions they may make, I'll support them in all their
endeavours.
