Mark Papenfuss: http://news.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=12494 “I said it before, will say it again - a few of the admins here are out of control.” (in reference to Larry and I)

And I stand behind that 100%, it was a true and valid point and still is. And the fact that my post was spotlighted shows others agreed with me. But I will say you both are not ‘out of control’ at this given point in time.

I would say that I was never “out of control” - especially since just about everything I’ve done, I’ve had the support of the other Admins. But then, we’re getting into the semantics of “out of control.”

But I have questioned your views of Lugnet and its rules more than a few times. I am not going to waste time going back and touching upon them all but rather give two recent examples:

http://news.lugnet.com/general/?n=50391 “While .general is sometimes seen as the main newsgroup of Lugnet, it should be noted that posts are on topic for .general only if there is not a better newsgroup for them to go in. ”

As I pointed out in my reply this is just not true. I was really looking forward to a reply to my post so you could clear up this blatantly obvious contradiction of your words and the charter for .general.

My message was due to conversations within the Admin group about the appropriateness of posting in .general. I hadn’t checked the written charter, so technically you were right. The Admins were talking about what it would take to update the charter, but got sidelined by other issues.

http://news.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=12627 “If Lugnet is about LEGO, and LEGO MOCs in particular, I think added weight to MOCs is a fair. Especially since the only messages to really gain spotlights are MOCs or flame-wars.”

First off, Lugnet is about the community in particular.

First off, that was a discussion, and I was throwing out ideas - not changing the mission of Lugnet. Everyone reacted to those words as if there were more than just one guy’s opinion. 95% of my friends in the LEGO community are interested primarily in MOCs - and so am I.

And obviously Lugnet is about community. I didn’t need that pointed out to me or argued for me. I was making a point to push forward a discussion.

And if you (or any other Lugnet Admin) have at any time thought I had something personal against you, or did not like them on a personal level you could not be more wrong. I am very sorry if you ever felt this way. Yes I did and do question your views on a few things, but that is not a reflection on my personal views of you.

Remember that time when you said that I was less intelligent than a three-year-old? I kinda took that personally. But then, maybe you thought it was a more general criticism of my abilities, and not attack against me or my character.

Although really, it was probably said in the heat of the moment and you didn’t really mean it.

At any rate - I wish you happiness and hope at some point your views of things turn into the “half full” viewpoint.

Thanks.

-Lenny
