I wasn’t going to reply, but my name is here and, well, context is everything.

Let’s get the entire quotation--

I am not going to discuss this anymore. The Admins have made their decision.

Thank you for your thoughtful responce.

Bush made the decision to invade Iraq. No further scrutiny needed.

Not that I’m one for ‘low blows’, but Lenny, are you listening to what you’re
   saying?

The idea, if it’s not already obvious, was that decisions made can, and should be revisited if there are issues with those decisions, instead of the unilateral “I am not going to discuss this anymore”. You’re a leader (or you were at the time of the post)--decisions without explanations from your position of authority will be the downfall of LUGNET.

If someone is going to be an admin, or a leader in any regard, the ability to revisit decisions as needed is a necessity. And explaining decisions is a requirement--“I’m not going to discuss it anymore”? You’d better be prepared to discuss it more, for the decision was wrong.

You (the admin staff), bottom line, banned Chris over something that happened outside of LUGNET. I’m sorry, but that issue at the time wasn’t resolved and the decision had to be revisited. Not for my sake, but for the sake of LUGNET. If we start banning people at LUGNET for stuff that happenes outside of LUGNET, then when do we start monitoring e-mails? AIM? Heck, show up at an rtl dinner and take notes and ban the lot of us!

If we want LUGNET to be a great place to be, for everyone to enjoy, then transparancy from the admins is absolutely required--none of this ‘high office and the peons can’t know anything’ stuff.

At least that’s how I see it.
