Re: Parts packs being discontinued? My rep says "no"

(...) This very apparent to anyone who has looked at Lego's parts pack selections in the 60's and 70's. In 1963 there were over 138 different parts packs available. What is it today, less than 20? Gary Istok (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: L.A. Times article on Legoland 'masters'

(...) From what I remember reading, of the 35 model builders in Enfield, all but 9 got dismissed with this years downsizing. Can you imagine being a model builder for 20 years, and suddenly have to go out and get a real job? What else are you (...) (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general)

  new pneumatic cylinders?

I built the 8448 last week. Clever set, fun to build. Last night I picked it up, and the gull-wing doors wouldn't open. Turns out the new 'pneumatic'/'hydraulic' cylinders were both broken, the springs had pushed down into the cylinders. Apparently, (...) (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: Jonathan Wilson's posting privileges on LUGNET

(...) I like this idea, but I think a self-regulated restriction would be better than a system-imposed limit, for several reasons: 1. Todd doesn't have to develop the solution. 2. It's a simple, measurable way for Jonathan to show (in)compliance. 3. (...) (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 4030 Cargo Carrier

(...) i've been a fanatic to get one of these for quite a while because of the size of the model (it's the biggest of the floating boats along with the 4031-fire rescue) and i like the "commerce" sense of the model (rather than being a police, fire, (...)   Re: Three new minifigs

(...) Amen, those I don't mind. I didn't even think to mention the annoying/embarassing aspect of encountering sound like that at work. All those stupid midi sounds, even if you like them the first time or two, get REAL old REAL fast. It almost (...) (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Three new minifigs

Okay everyone, I have removed all MIDIs from my site. I decided that would be best because of other peoples' opinions, as well as their (the MIDIs) inconsistency <sp?>; some pages had them, some didn't, and it was not easy to tell which ones had (...) (27 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) What's to negotiate? You have experience with FoM, you know Perl, and your connection is probably just as fast as directhosting claims theirs is.
