Hi Jim, My PB is a 1400 with a G3 upgrade running at 216 MHz. The video of a PB 1400 is notoriously slow. So, using it on a G3 300 should work a lot better. John, I may be guilty of being vague AGAIN. Yes, you can run it on a Mac if you have Virtual PC. I bought Virtual PC so I could run an IR Spectrophotometry program, but I can use Virtual PC to run MLCAD. Yes, it does use the ldraw parts; infact, (...) Hey John, I just started using MLCAD on my PB 1400 (G3 upgraded) boy is it pokey, but it works. It is a menu driven program so it is easy to figure out. I couldn't figure out LDRAW within the first 60 seconds so I gave up on it. So far I have drawn (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

My experience tells me the bigggest factor limiting the length of the train is the number of curves you have and their configuration. Take you same 71 car train and try to drive it through a double s-curve. That is 8 curves one way, then 8 the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Even if it was $0.20 by the time it is productized it is maybe $1.00. Multiply this by the quantity sold and you just save ~$500,000 (whatever the quantity is). I think the standard UP colors debuted in the mid/late 30s. I have a brochure from (19)36 that shows those colors, although it doesn't actually have a picture of a train to verify that they were painting the trains those colors that early. -- Have (...) (25 years ago, 21-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

Not quite...it is CN and BNSF. :( although, I can see why. The Canadian railways have always had some US feeder lines (CN owned CV and GTW (CN used to be GT :) ). Uhhhh, gee, I just used some extra-long wires I got from Dacta to extend the console over to next to the couch, and plugged it in there ;-) But yeah, I want to get a couple of IR remotes too, for when I take an 8448 to work, and for my future train (...) As everyone says, it's minifig scale, BUT if you had to chose the closest model train scale, I would say O scale. Now, of course, minifig scale means cars and trains that can only fit one minifig width-wise. I, however, build my trains 8 studs wide (...) Steven and Rogers just make sure that when you use the jack on the RCX use an adapter that LEGO makes like the one that comes with the train controller. This one is also designed for the RCX.
