this is quite cool, bram. i particularly like the use of pink elements and the bubble over the cockpit/driver's seat. it opens up a whole new range of possibilities (flying versions of classic cars). good stuff! ..joseph g (...) I didn't know that about POV-ray. The only things I've rendered in it have been floating in space, so I've never tried something hovering over a reflective surface. AFAIK, reflective surfaces in POV don't actually reflect the light rays that bounce off of them, so no light reaches the bottom of the car, so (...) Very cool! Did you do anything special to the bottom of the car in the ray-trace? In the reflection, it looks almost like you have placed tiles there upside down, but the MPD has plates for the bottom. Or is it an optical illusion? James (...) The Aquanaut Hydro-Crystalization set ( 6199) has the 2 domes and two of the green tinted, arched, clear panels. I bought two of them at their full price of about $90! You can build your own mountain, that way you can have it flat at the top and have caves and other things. If you build it with newspapers and then cover them with a thivk layer of plaster, you can then file the plaster flat and paint it. Perhaps (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Ahh, the ageless question :) Dave Eaton and I, in the course of our AT-AT Marathon (I'm still recovering ...) e-mailed each other regularly on issues about scale. I think the problem is here that Lego have contradicted themselves with their scaling in certain models. They produce trucks and cars at 4 stud wide, passenger planes at 4 stud wide, yet trains at 6 studs wide? I have seen trains on the back of (...) This is based off of the fact that minifigs are typically about 42mm tall (you can adjust that with backpacks and hats), which should be roughly 6 feet. This translates roughly into a (...) Ok, I have not managed to read many posts in the last 4 weeks or so(I hold my head in shame) due to work comitments.I have recently purchased a Panther radio controlled model tank, 1.25th scale. I thought the way you were mixing 6 wide busses with 4 wide trucks and containers was interesting. It certainly has me thinking about this whole 4, 6, 8-wide thing. All of my stores have silly names. Meta Crab's Electrode Hut (the same Meta Crab of Slapstick/Robotrek fame), SDF-1 Fashions (the store looks like the SDF- 1 from Macross), Special Gun Shop, and so on. I have two construction companies, Blue Collar (...) (25 years ago, 18-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)
