You know, I was actually thinking about making one out of plaster! I've
worked with plaster before so I know how to work with it. I'm not too sure
how I could get the texture. The paint is the same way. I guess I would just
have to paint the entire thing brown. I think it would end up being cheaper
than BURP's. It would look more realistic. Since I have used non lego
elements for the water, beach, grass, and roads, it would make sense that a
mountain be made out of non lego elements. I was even going so far as to get
railroad trees instead of Lego trees, but that would end up being more
expensive. That really is cool how you created the scenery for your space
scenes. Great work!
The styrofoam that I saw was the biggest piece of junk. First, it's so
brittle. Second, the way they painted it looked horrible. Third, it was SO
TINY! I need a nice big one. Fourth, there was no flat top. If you can find
a decent styrofoam one, I'd love to see it!

| We have a Styrofoam mountain in the NGLTC layout. Its made from the sheets of pink home installation, Great stuff foam and a thin layer of sheetrock putty (for texture). Also a few clone blocks were added as rocks to the mountain to give it some (...) (25 years ago, 18-Apr-00, to lugnet.town)
