My two cents worth:
Blue. Blue.
The purple reflection of the lights on the stingray is what convinced me that
the purple color is an effect of the lighting. This is why the white and red
in the LEGO logo are pretty color accurate. The scanning process may have
exacerbated it slightly and made it look more purple than the box actually is.

| (...) I don't buy that reasoning. I believe that film emulsions can often incorrectly record some colors while exactly preserving others. It is reasonable to assume that scanning processes could also suffer from that effect. Just because one color (...) (26 years ago, 16-Apr-99, to lugnet.starwars)
