Maybe somebody already mentioned this, but it looks like the new mini sets <set:4487> and <set:4486> each have an astromech droid body <part:30361> with new printing (which can bee seen pretty good here (URL). Hello, me again :-) Al'ight, I'll try to remember some specific shapes.... Clickable round hinges(like AT-TE) are used at 4 knees, Body and Head are shaped by gray&darkgray plates and CLICKABLE HINGE PLATES!! Body side panel can open, and of course (...) After 9 hours and 40 minutes (counting from the moment I opened the box) my Imperial Star Destroyer is finished! I'm in Tallahassee, Florida and the Walmarts here have *pre-emptively* marked down to the TRU price, but "only for a few days." Apparently all the TRU's in Phoenix (arizona even?) have sold out of the SW II DVD's within 1 1/2 hours of opening on Nov 12. They were selling for $9.99. A bit off topic but Toys R Us is advertising the Attack of the Clones DVD for $10 and reports are that Wal-Mart is willing to match prices. In my library of LDRAW Star Wars Models, I have a mini TIE fighter that is nearly identical to this, authored by one Karim Nassar, and I acquired the DAT file to it in July '01. I checked FBTB late last night and found that the magazine was due for "nationwide release" today so I popped out at lunchtime and picked up two copies of the £3.50 mag' in WHS in Farnborough. Well, I got the £3.50 one, which is Star Wars: The Official Magazine (Vol 1 # 41), and has a picture of Anakin and Padme on the front, with a smaller picture of Han Solo in the top tight corner (It also boasts Episode III - First Exclusive News! - (...) I'd like to think that the Master Builders at LEGO were inspired by some of the AFOL creations, most particularly Jeff Jardine's ISD Pursuer ((URL) which preceded the official set by several weeks and is a simmilar design... I hope we'll see more (...) (22 years ago, 3-Nov-02, to lugnet.starwars)

So was this an in house Lego design or did they get outside help? It just seems to me that the Star Destroyer is built with a more AFOL technique than even the Blockade Runner or UCS X-Wing (which cheat with printed patterns for detail when they (...) (22 years ago, 3-Nov-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Hi All, Wasn't sure if this was the best question for Star Wars, Military, or Mecha folks. I'm interested in building the fighter jet and mecha models on the back of the 7163 box.
