Well my dark age started about 1988, i was starting High School and it just
wasn't cool to like LEGO so it gradually got put away....

The Dark has only just lifted in the last month or so, I have a young nephew
who loves cars, bikes and the like so i brought out my lego... Well he loved
it and it made me realise how much I enjoyed it and missed it as well...

I have spent way to much money on new Lego sets in the last month (I
probably should be locked away) I too was worried about other people's
reaction to a 26 year old, playing with LEGO... But when i found LUGNET i
realised that i was far from alone as an Adult LEGO fan...

My Parents bought me a lot of LEGO when i was younger. My Dad said he got
chills and a Big smile when he heard that familiar scratching sound, as i
searched for the piece i needed, it was a sound he hadn't heard in 12
years....

I have just recently thanked him for buying me all that LEGO when i was
young.. I only now realise how lucky i was....

How did you come out of your Dark Ages?

Hello, I was wondering if any of you had any interesting stories about what prompted your exit from your Dark Ages. Was there a specific set? Did you visit someone with a layout? Did you immediatety go on a shopping spree? I'll get the ball rolling. (...) (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.people, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca)
