My dark ages lasted about 10 years, from age 16 to 26. I was in a Toys R'
Us about two years ago, just looking around, and decided to check out the
Lego section to see what the sets were looking like these days. A few town
sets caught my eye and then I saw the 4559. It was the first Lego train I
had seen since I was 9 yrs old in the Legoland giftshop in Denmark on
vacation. Seeing that train set brought back the thrill of being in a store
devoted entirely to Lego stuff. I felt 9 yrs. old again and returned the
next day to buy it. Within a few days I was on the computer beginning to
realize that the 4559 was one of the ugliest train sets Lego has made. I
saw the metroliner and fell in love with the whole 9v line. Then I started
looking at some of the older 4.5v and 12v trains and realized I had a lot of
collecting to do. I'm getting close to completing my 9v collection of sealed
sets. Finding sealed 12v trains is a bit harder, not to mention expensive,
but I have a few.
