What an awesome robotics display we had at BrickCon this year! I really wanted to thank Mark Kenworthy for putting together an awesome Crate Contraption! I just got confirmation that we will be able to use the new Michelangelo auditorium in the *new* DigiPen facilities for our meetings this year, starting with this Saturday's meeting.   Robot Competition at BrickCon 2010
 
This year's robot competition at BrickCon will be a racing competition. Build and program a robot able to race around an irregularly shaped gradient track while avoiding obstacles on the track. At the build session on the weekend I was reminded that I hadn't mentioned where to register for BrickCon. As many of you know, I'm the Mindstorms coordinator at BrickCon. As such, I need to make sure that anyone bringing robots will have room to display them. We had a small, but wonderful SMART meeting last Saturday. While the turnout was smaller than usual, nearly everyone brought a robot, and four people brought stair climbing robots! We had a great meeting last Saturday. A number of robots were able to complete the mini-challenge. Everyone who built a robot for the challenge agreed this was one of the more interesting ones to work on. The March meeting is in four weeks. Since (...) Robothon is taking place this weekend at the Seattle Center. Numerous competitions take place on Saturday, many of which are suitable for LEGO Mindstorms robots, including the walking robot race.
