Anyway, from Genesis to the parables of Jesus and the writings of Paul, the
overall theme is not rising against homosexuality, is not hitting people over
the head with religiosity, is not "God da bomb--those that don't believe
suxors!!"  it is that we are to be stewarts, to care for the world and our
fellow person, that we are to be servants, putting others first instead of our
own wants and desires, to try and help one another in our daily tasks, but above
all, that no matter who they are, where they come from, or what sort of
'lifestyle' they're in, everyone is our fellow person, and, as such, deserves
the best we can do for them.

Beyond that, what more is there?

That's actually about the best argument for atheism that I've ever heard a
non-atheist put forth.  If we as individuals accept the responsibility of caring
for the planet and for each other during our fleeting time here, then what more
is there?  What's the need of a god, if we can reach this conclusion without
ever having to invoke a deity?

Dave!

Well, I do usually concur with your assessments...

I don't go "I'm contributing to this charity *because* I'm a Christian!" or "I'm
helping this little old lady across the street *because* of my Christian
values!"

Much like, I suppose, you don't go around saying, "Look at all the good works
I'm doing and I'm doing it without the burden of that Christianity stuff..."

We try to contribute to the betterness of the world around us.  I don't 'invoke
God' when I do it, nor I would imagine, you don't invoke 'non-God' when you do
it.

It just 'is the right thing to do.'

Some Christians would say your choices to support your fellow person are 'Gods
laws written on your heart' even if you don't believe in Him.  Eh, whatever...
