Well, I'm a pragmatist, after all! 8^)
Besides which, I think the beauty of this story is not the issue of
church/state separation but rather the apparent church/church separation! The
fun will come in watching the Christian Coalition scramble to justify its
decades-old doctrine of greed in the face of this new, more altrustic tax
structure.
So you're right--I'm 100% in favor of 100% church/state separation. But it's
great to see politicians using church doctrine to help people rather than to
exploit (or condemn) them.
