Would this be all service packs, or only those in the 5xxx range?

Surely they will not discontinue essential service packs, such as
the 9756 LEGO MINDSTORMS Rotation Sensor, for example.

I have just returned from visiting TLG's Australian office, and I have • some
rather disturbing news.

I was trying to find out if there was a chance of getting parts (quite a
number of them) which were not listed in the meagre 1999 Australian • Service
Catalogue. The simple answer was no (said with a "you must be joking" • facial
expression).

The Parts and Service manager then informed me that this service would be
discontinued next year. That's right, NO MORE spare parts next year. • Standard
Lego sets only. And not only in Australia, this change apparently is to be
world wide. So it seems you can all kiss goodbye to your service packs, • even
on S@H. The tubs and buckets should stay in production, I just wish you • could
get them over here.

I feel totally disheartened with TLG at the moment. They are hanging all • their
long time loyal fans out to dry. I now have almost no hope of ever • suitably
expanding my Lego collection to enable me to build the models I wish, • short of
buying up bulk now in the US, parting with my house/car/wife to buy • standard
Lego sets, or spend my life scouring markets and garage sales for old
collections for sale.

Someone else may wish to confirm this shocking revelation, but it's • curtains
for any spare parts and service packs for Australia, and my newly aquired
source was certain about it being world wide.

RIP Lego.
