I thought this might be an interesting question to ask the whole group.

So, what is YOUR LEGO specialty?

Mine is collecting individual elements, building space ships and other
vehicles. I have catalogued approximately 2,600 different elements spanning
all LEGO themes and age groups - from Duplo through Technic and Znap, Fabuland
through Scala - you name it. I've built many larger space ships and dozens of
smaller ones. Plus large custom models of a 727, a ferry boat, racing cars,
etc.

I know I'm not the only one who'd like to know.

Wayne

What's my specialty........................

1) Sharing the colorful early history of LEGO with the LUGNET community.  I don't
know it all, but I know enough people (mostly Europeans) who collectively know it
all.  And for me it is very satisfying to help share this knowledge (and give
credit where credit is due).

2) Classic LEGO collector (no surprise here).  I collect some of the early LEGO
sets from '56-'70.  By no means do I have every old set.  I only collect a sample
of what was produced back then.  I especially love the colorful old parts packs
boxes that they made between 1956-66.  After '66 the boxes were plain blue, and
rather bland looking.

3) Building a LEGO City in the Classic Scale.  I have an obscene amount of classic
doors and windows, and I am building a hybrid European (old architectural styles)
and American (modern and Art Deco styles) city based on the HO Train Scale, which
happens to be the classic scale (1 door = 3 bricks high).

4) My collective knowledge of History and Architecture (partly related to LEGO).
Whether it's the Early English versus the Decorated style in 13th-14th century
Gothic Architecture, or the differences between Streamlined Moderne versus Pueblo
Deco in Art Deco Architecture, I have some understanding of the evolution of
Architecture through the ages, as well as the history of the world that went with
it.
