I like to make original creations
that do not exist in real life as an
artistic/engineering exercise. This
has been somewhat of a
hinderence because there is
nothing to compare them to.
(Unlike almost everything else on
Lugnet. I did like the minifig
museum of modern art that
Ashley made). My favorite item
for this theme are space stations.
I like to make nonorthogonal
(non-90degree) creations also
that really show what is possible
with basic blocks. Recently I made
an Eiffel tower using basic blocks.
As far as using special pieces, I
just finished a 6 legged spider
Mecha using 2 BURPs a couple
arches an a bunch of boat bow
pieces as an exercise in
unconventional Mecha design and
piece usage.
