(...) If you are using the original ldraw.exe program, you won't have any luck with MPD files. LDraw.exe doesn't understand them. I too had though about a complete re-write, but it's so hard to get motivated to take on the project when you see how much stuff is packed into the existing TD. No disrespect to Matt, but how about a rewrite. Couple thoughts: TD3D (Track Designer 3D). This was very loosely suggested at the LDraw round table at BricksWest (maybe by Jake ???). I'm definitely in favor of moving the "Brush" parts into another category. I'm not convinced that "Car" is the best category for these elements, especially since the new names indicate they should be in "Car Wash", not "Car". Does anyone else have (...) Since there was never any response from reviewers who affirmed that they would help review these files if I submitted them, I'll hold off on this project for now. The NGLTC does now host the Train Depot, but we have nothing to do with the code upgrade to Track Designer, we just agreed to host the application. I have begun to model a Car-Wash-Station, but I can't find the axle and the holder for the brushes. I know the holder doesn't exists. But what's with the axle? Does the axle exist? I have added my own elements to my registry, such as some of the newer buildings and some of my own creations - but it is probably only applicable to me. Hi Carsten, You are right, rubber belts have a round section, while my models have a square one. The real reason is that I used spring2dat that create square section. Every time you upload to a folder or use the 'reload command' in a folder, the system selects the first file (not subfolder) thumbnail as the icon for that folder. If a folder contains only subfolders, you must upload at least one image to the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

I created these parts (with Marc Klein's spring2dat utility) to be able to model rubber belts in my Technic creations. This is my first part authoring, so be indulgent... (critics are welcome though!) There are DAT-files for 5 fragments of rubber (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) You have to calculate a vertex normal in order to do lighting. However, it doesn't have to be the correct normal if your rendering engine supports 2-sided lighting (like OpenGL does). Also, I believe, that no matter whether you use Back Face Culling or not, Having the vertices wound correctly in the DAT files is still a good thing. I've just uploaded the first renders of the progress on my room design. I've used a scale of 1 stud to 1 inch, and if I had enough of the right bricks I could probably build this later :) At the moment I still have quite a bit of work to - the 2 and (...)
