That's the rub. Long ago, I corresponded with Matt Bates about what it would
take to make registry elements exportable and importable (so that you could
transfer elements from one library/registry to another) and even he was not
quite sure how to do it cleanly, and he wrote the original code!
Surely it's doable but it would take someone with access to the source a
good deep hacking run to do it.
As beloved as TD is by many, Matt said he wrote it more as a learning
project than anything else, originally, and wasn't too keen on some of the
internals as he felt he'd progressed beyond some of it.
