Here's my Duplo 2x2- I'd love some feedback. Note that the internal ribbing is quite different from the way that the Duplo 2x4 is done. (...) Actually, is there any reason (other than guidelines developed based on symmetry) to orient the hat so the feather hole is in front? 2nd reply to my own post... After realizing that the inner bits aren't really all that hard (time-consuming, perhaps, but not too hard), I added the interior ribs and associated lines. Yeah - I wasn't sure what to submit either. The long shot shows the overall construction the best (when you bring up the enlarged picture), but its certainly not very impressive for the thumbnail. Again, I'm not an expert on naming conventions. But it makes sense to me to name a Duplo piece after the corresponding System piece and append it with "_d". I'm not terribly familiar with the naming conventions for parts, so I expect this will need a different name and/or filename... This is the bottom tube for Duplo parts. This part looks good to me, although the geometry is clearly a combination between older Duplo parts and newer Duplo parts. The OD is clearly correct because it exactly doubles a System stud. Bad news: According to Bas Oskamp <aldjia@freeler.nl> the LDraw parts distribution file, "complete.exe", may contain a virus. I have temporarily made the file unavailable on the ldraw.org web site. (...) Take a 3001 (Brick 4x2) and put a 3437 (Duplo Brick 2 x 2) on top. The 3001's studs end at 4 LDU from the edge, and The Duplo brick fits perfectly well on top, and it ends where the 3001 ends. Well.... I'm making AutoCAD blocks of all the pieces, so that if it has been "created in memory" from before, I just insert it at the apropriate place (x y and z from the dat file). So far, so good. Try copying the executable to l3glite.exe and running it, or add -l3 to the commandline to use the l3 parser for now whenever you want to use the (...) Very cool! I noticed two things, which could be considered problems. One is straight-forward, the other is not so.
