After you downloaded the runtime patch, did you also install/apply it? The
runtime patch actually modifies the ldraw.exe and ledit.exe files in
c:\ldraw\.
Also, have you considered going with MLCAD or LeoCad? With those two
programs, you don't have to be able to run LDraw itself.
