I think Eric is the one bringing everything back to outside conflicts, which
can't be helping his image.

HE'S NOT IGNORING ANYTHING.

I suppose you are such an avid follower of the build.mecha forums, Bram, to
know all the times Eric has ignored criticisms.

My point was that he was initially dismissing the comments made in this thread
as insults...which is pretty much ignoring criticism.  My comment was not based
on any previous experience.

since you yourself said a long time ago that you thought
mecha were pointless MOCs to build since apparently it's just either two
legs, plus a torso and arms, or six legs and a top frame. Right? Correct me
if I am wrong. I am 90% sure you said that years ago. You certainly haven't
built any mecha since that biped black one, years and years ago...

I don't think I ever said mecha were pointless MOCs to build, they're just not
my thing.  I can appreciate the skill required to build one that stands up on
its own and all that.  Building big is hard.  Building big stuff that moves is
harder.  If I had a good idea for a mech that I personally found interesting, I
would give it a shot.  Unfortunately I don't...I have far more ideas for other
MOCs, and I will build them first when I have the time.

Anyways, why don't you try to make a suggestion, just to test him?

Honestly, I haven't taken enough time to look at the MOC to make any suggestions
about it specifically.  I do agree with some of the other folks in this thread
though, that it would be interesting to see Eric branch out from the large
bipedal mecha formula...I really like the cat-shaped mech he built a while ago,
for example, because it's different and includes some fun details.

I might make the same suggestion to you...you've certainly mastered the legged
battle platform...why not apply your color blocking and excellent texturing
skills to a spaceship, wheel vehicle, or moonbase module?  You're of course free
to ignore my advice, just like I probably won't build a mech anytime soon.

(...) Well, I've made suggestions to Eric a few times, especially via e-mail, and he was quite happy to hear them and discuss them. Most people are very open to critiques, the problem comes when the critic doesn't now what the hell they are (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
