Joint technology is what sets mecha building apart from other styles. Eric does
what he does well. His gearing and joint tech change with each model. If you
dont notice the changes in how the legs spread apart, or how he incorporates a
new technic piece into a mecha joint, then why bother looking? Sometimes a new
lego part is a reason to build an entirely new mecha, and of course hes going
to draw from his previous creations.
As for scale, you say its off, but in comparison to what? A human being? A
real robot will have different scales to deal with weight and mobility issues.
I remember looking at his Little Blue Bot at Brickswest 2002 and admiring his
use of technic parts for half an hour. Thats where his mecha excel. If youre
not into that sort of thing, then why post?

| (...) I'm talking about the designs and the style, not the gearing technology, which I dont particularly understand (nor really care about, honestly). (...) Judging by Eric's reply to me(1), I really don't think Eric cares one iota about my opinion. (...) (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
