Ya know Eric, this is a really cool bot, but for you its the same old same
old. Different fingers, different eyes, different color, but still the same
nonetheless. Youve perfected the Sophie-Style bot, why not try something
new?

I tend to agree with Adrian. This is old hat for you by now.

I cant disagree more, I can see the new.

Its kinda funny, when I saw Erics post initially, I had sort of the same
reaction as Adrian. I saw the picture of another Sophie-Mech, and didnt bother
clicking further.
I happened to catch Adrians post as it went by, and since have thought about it
a bit more. I cant really fault Eric for sticking to the mechs he builds. I
mean, theyre cool! But for me, its more like seen-one-seen-em-all. Theyre
just not my thing. And thats fine-- I similarly ignore various train models for
the same reasons, because theyre just not interesting to me beyond a certain
point. The changes in minute details dont jump at me, and it often makes for a
MOC I simply pass by because Ive seen bunches like it.
I hate to say it, but I found the same to be true of Bob Carneys castles.
Theyre totally awesome models, but after looking at a dozen or so, they were
lots more of the same as far as I was concerned. But hey, its his niche. And
Erics niche seems to be the Sophie-Mech. All similar in style, but each equally
cool.
If building one style of model makes him happy, hey, Im all for it. I just
probably wont look at future Sophie-Mechs, rather like I havent for ... a
while I guess. And if Erics doing this in part for the attention he gets, maybe
lots of people not looking will inspire him to go on to something different. But
apparently hes still got a good sized following of fans, so hey, more power to
you, Eric!
