LOL, all of this comming from a person that said to me, "it never ocurred to me

Or, "I didn't realize your (Eric Sophie's) Mecha were all mini-fig scale."

Are you calling me out because I dont understand worm gears?  Are you calling me
out because I never saw the minifigs sitting in your mecha?  Because I thought
your mecha were more artistic sculptures than the silly minifig scale stuff I
do?

Really?

Sorry, taking advice from a novice in the field is just not easy.
Though you have the right and the ability to use your visual skills to point out
some design aspects if they come to mind.

I don't want to be snobby in that way, so I'll hear you out.
It does get pretty mixed up between us like this, wouldn't you say?
Perhaps if we both try again. Really, come on who really cares who is right or
wrong anymore. Let's get along for the better of the community. We both give a
great deal to see it succeed. Yet, doing this is counter to what we really want
to happen here.

Do you see why I see your critique as laughable and later insulting?
Really, I won't give up what I love. Don't even try.

I continue to stand by my criticism as valid and honest. If you think it is
laughable, then that is your business. If you think it is insulting, then show
me how? Because you disagree with me?

I wish I could. I would too. That is if you want to learn.
If you are expressing a desire to understand what choices and limitations were
involved in the Construction of the Beeesh, then I would show you.

....but it takes time. It takes patience, practice and a desire to see through
to the most logical way of engineering Mecha components.

The history and reasons could be shared. I just thought people like you wouldn't
be interested. So I just posted the pics. Then when interested parties began
discussion, I could expound.

I knew if I didn't explain ahead of time, people would just make up their own
minds and never understand. Oh well, sometimes you just can't be yourself
without taking a bunch of heat for it.

I just advised a friend to post his MOC with tons of info and explainations, or
some people would just rip you up for the obvious.

In the end I owned up. You made some critiques and I agree. Least thing I could
do is be gracious and keep what you said in mind.
Thank you for taking the time to chime in.
Really though and honestly, saying what I do is "old hat.." that's a little
messed up in my book. I really did not like that. It dismisses, (in my opinion)
all of my years of hard work and really makes me feel like you don't truly
understand why I do what I do.

Truth is the Beeesh though plain looking, is the strongest and most stable Mecha
I have ever made. I used all my experience in determining the best placement and
arrangement of Technic Elements to form the frame.

10 days alone is a triumph considering the 8 months its predecessor the Gomgile
took to create, let alone driving me temporarily insane.

rant off.

Or is it because we aren't friends
anymore?

I told you once, to love myself, I must also love others.
I have hope, because I know you really never asked for none of this.
I know you were thrust in to many a situation.
Though Mr. Hoffman has inserted foot in to mouth, just as Mr. Sophie has.

And I resent that you think I'm asking you to give up what you want.  Rather,
I'd like to see your work grow again - and become dynamic and exciting to me.  I
relate it as one artist to another in honest, blunt terms.  I have never, and
will never demand that you stop doing what you love to do.  And if you said,
"Thank you for your opinion Mr.Hoffman, but I respectfully disagree" that would
have been the end of it.

Fair enough, its just difficult when it comes to you. I'm trying.

It is you, not me, who is making this a personal fight.  I would have used the
same language with any friend or acquiantance.

I don't think its personnal, I'm just suspicious of it.
That, and the way the two offending posts were made, were, just plain, uncool.
