Hi everyone, I got a bug in my ear this evening to fool around with trying to recreate one of those tiny Japanese light tanks. All: These pictures are from Oct 2001, when I began my 2nd version of the WTC. The plan was to build a 5x5 foot plaza, the surrounding roads, and all of the buildings in the Trade Center. That's a plan I like to use too. I'll just dip into a bunch of little parts, often Technic, or even just plain o'l bulk 2x4's and 1x2's and just goof around. It's a very cool building, not really my style though. As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the building on this page: (URL) tried looking for a larger picture of it, but I can't find any. I'd suggest trying to build in a different theme for a bit. Rather than make a new space ship, try making a garbage truck or a medieval castle or a technic crane or a mecha or something. At what temperature will Lego® bricks get damaged - for e.g. in summer in your car or in your house's Lego® room under the roof? I did the ultimate test (...) No one else seems to have suggested this, but it always works for me: Start with a *limited* amount of pieces. I always find that necessity breeds invention, though others may disagree. Wow... where do you get the "hazard stripe" and 2x1 double ended click hinges from? I've been toying around with click hinges myself, and have realized that I often get stuck due to a lack of small pieces such at those. And... wow again. The tbird's (...) Thank you, Mark, for all those tips. I hadn't thought of gearboxes in the legs--I'll have to try some experiments with that, I think. Your thunderbird mech was very impressive. heh. I think you'd better talk to Dan Parker about that. Seems a Few years back PNLTC created the largest Lego train layout. Guiness was there.
