Brian, your rock crawler is quite interesting to me because you've rediscovered
the design of a real-world reconnaissance robot:

The designer is related to my boss in some manner that I can't recall, but he
was up at our office last summer showing us videos of the robot and having us
help him design some promotional materials.

(...) well, in all honesty I shamelessly implemented a solution I had already known about: PackBot by iRobot. I won't remotely claim the idea originated with me, as it didn't. The more I thought about this, the more I liked this idea: I wanted to make a really high-mobility vehicle, but the problem with wheels is they are really stopped by steps greater than their own radius (well, partially, ignoring pushing from (...)
