But this complication is unnecessary and doesn't bring anything
new/positive. Rather the other things - studless beams are incompatible
with System. That's a major issue. They had to design completely new
pneumatics for it. We may also see new motors, maybe new sensors,
because they rely (at least partially) on the studs. Of course, if you
have motors today, you have to had some previous set which was mixed in
terms of studs/studless. Do you really think this _adds_ something
positive? Like throw your System away, now you have Technic?

Do you think my old 744 <http://guide.lugnet.com/set/4090> should be
called 'simpler Technic'?

What's advanced on
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8441
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8451
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8453
Don't know anything about 8454, because it's so unattractive. Same
applies to 8465 & 8466, but these are 2 years old.
There's is only one _current_ _advanced_ Technics set - 8455 Backhoe.

Yeah. But you had some years of previous experiences with Lego (System).
This is not System. It's not compatible. You can't reasonably attach
almost anything from System to the model. That was not a problem with
older Technic sets.

Somewhat I hope it'd be last year ;-)

Progress is good. Replacement is not. This is the same as the color
issue - nobody is against new colors, but almost everybody is against
replacement.
Again, to make all this ranting clear: I'm not against studless beams.
I'm against replacement of studded beams with studless beams in Technic
sets.
