That was my beef. The Death Star was bad enough, get over it. Come up with
something more interesting that has to be defeated. There are other
interesting conflicts besides Big Bad Technological Things.

That's why I never read them, actually... they're still depending on characters
from the movie, and frankly I don't *care* what happened to the Rancor Keeper
after the movie.
On the other hand, a story about a frieghter captain who has something happen
to him that just *happens* to be set in the Star Wars universe... say, he's
duped into smuggling something and has to avoid the Imperials, or something...
I'd be really into.
