Not _that_ difficult if you were willing to learn the basics of part creation.
I can't think of an easier part to model than a plain baseplate. Just 6
surfaces and a bunch of stud.dat's. I guess the rounded corners would add a
level of difficulty, but you could just cut all those off anyway.
I bet Steve could add a "custom baseplate" extension to his LDAO gridder with
a few keystrokes :-)
Since you'd have to inline them, many different configurations could add up to
some big files though.
