Hi, I haven't used LegOs (yet), but looking at the dlcd_show function, it expects 2 parameters. The defines are also for 2 parameters, so you would need to define and use it like this: int progressPattern[PATT...S_NB][2]={ {LCD_4_BOTL} , (...) You know I had finished my control program in NQC, it is not so simple, but I need to control LEGO Train in smooth speed, NQC is limitation, so I want to use legOS for one of RCX, could you give me some hints for sending/receiving NQC style message (...) I think it would be possible to directly drive the IR port from your own code to send and recieve NQC-style communications, but the ability isn't built into (...) (...) I've used the Train Transformers with great success. If you look close at your RCX you'll notice 9-12~ Anything from 9 to 12 volts AC or DC will work fine. (...) Well on the back of the LEGO train power supply it list Output as 12VAC 7VA, so I'm assuming that the DC conversion is done in the speed regulator, I couldn't tell you why. I calculated the acceleration of gravity once with a light sensor, touch sensor (for timing purposes), a ruler, and ROBOLAB 2. (URL) is a RIS 2.0 save file (you'll need to right-click and save it) that is a set of macro blocks to do VLL. After you open it, drag the big stack on the right into your My Blocks bin. Hi Michael, Try the --slow option on firmdl3. This forces it to use the slow download speed, and may help. Also, use --debug to display more debugging info. It looks like the serial port just isn't getting the right settings (baud, parity, etc). I'm not sure how to go about diagnosing/fixing it...NQC makes some rather straightforward POSIX calls to configure the serial port. If it is not working, then (...) Yes, that is an annoying misfeature of Robolab 2.0. I believe it is fixed in RoboLab 2.5 (due out Real Soon Now) where there is now an icon that resets before waiting and one that doesn't. Michael, I may not be much help as I only use my laptop for downloading programs, not development, and my serial port is built-in. Is there any message when it fails to connect, or not? Looks like the data is getting garbled. One guess would be that the port (under Linux) isn't handling odd parity with 8 data bits correctly. Hi, thanks for the tips, but nothing helps. I tried 0.2.5, I tried the far and near mode, I changed the lighting conditions -> nothing helped. I use 0.2.5 in windows (djgpp), and can't get by without using the slow download option (-s). If you have lighting problems, perhaps flipping the little switch on the IR tower will help. I have got both an RCX1.0 and RCX2.0 unit. The RCX2.0 has a much less sensitive IR port. I would use the remote control to send messages and start and stop programs and to trigger motors. I just wrote a task and function that cause the RCX to receive data from the PC and then set the time on the RCX using SetWatch(). (...) Roger, I believe the low voltage is more important. A side issue is the battery indicator that you access through NQC (or Robolab) set up in a scale of 0-9 volts.
