Has anyone had any luck getting the software to run on XP? At first it was giving a couple of errors but I altered the registry settings (as described for Windows NT in this newsgroup) and then it would play the intro movies fine. But once the (...) Cybermaster's firmware's on *ROM* so you're limited to tools that use the standard firmware. That excludes the likes of legOS, pbForth, etc. You can use NQC in Cybermaster "mode" or any other language/tool generating standard firmware byte-codes. (...) I tried it with a motor that worked using a battery box, but I will check that again to be sure. I just had another idea, I will use the light elemement to see if there is any power coming from the C2. I may have to pursue some kind of compensation (...) Hi, I have purchased several kits on e-bay recently and in two of them the motors were jammed. In both cases the seller replaced them (they were supposed to be new kits). I bought a opened Cybermaster on eBay. Once I finally got to the place where the motors are tested (hate that software!, please lego don't put building instructions on CD!) the internal motors work but the externally connected one does not. Without picking up the soldering iron and modifying its frequency, talking to multiple CyberMasters on the same frequency is, I guess, very similar to talking to multiple RCXs through IR. Hi, yeah... me I just went through such trouble using Java. The RTS should be 'false'. Then by experimenting I found switching the DTR before and after sending to have some positive effect. Hi, I've written a small Visual Basic program so I can use Cybermaster under Windows 3.1x. (So I cannot use spirit.ocx.) Sending commands works (motor on/off, sound, etc.). But I don't get any echo. Jim, I also had problems with the control tower. It was over when I installed a fresh battery. Then I modified the control tower so I could connect an extarnal power-supply. (...) The case isn't that cool:) There has been a few in aluminum suitcases, but generally it's delivered in cardbox suitcases. First off, I don't have a cybermaster, but I've stumbled across web pages with information concerning Cybermaster many times and I was seriously thinking of trying to purchase a set. (...) I doesn't get any simpler than the way you're supposed to do it. Attach the tower to a serial port, install the software, and you're running. HI: I just had a chance to play with my Cyberemaster, and the first thing I noticed is that gray peg/connectors do not stay in the holes at each corner. when I move the same peg over one hole it works fine, the peg will stay in and do what it is (...) (...) I would suspect that antenna placement, and possibly considering a different antenna design, would make a huge difference. Look in some radio books for things like Yagi designs. I would second the recommendation for trying different locations for the tower. At one point I had so many problems with "dead spots" with my exploring rover (that needs to communicate with the map making/route finding software running on the PC), (...) Greetings from Germany, here I saw only the metal case version of Cybermaster. But this case isn't a good one. The metal is very thin aluminium tin. After a short time the case has a lot of dents.
