Well, After a lot of soul searching, I have decided that A decision has
to be made as to scoring so that we can all build our robots and tune as
required....
and the winner is.....
This game is both about speed AND accuracy. By the very nature of the
X you need some degree of accuracy. because it is a game you need to
have a "winner" and by most accounts that's the first one done. there
is the speed.
it would be nice if we had several people all willing to do nothing but
watch the robots and clock the events but I cant ask anyone to do that.
SO.....
to follow the K.I.S.S. rule, we will score using the system that Dave
suggested, and most likely use the point scoring values as well.
We can all post about how one system is better than the other, and you
might be right, BUT I had to make a decision, and it would seem by the
informal information that i have gathered is that all our robots are
performing about as well as everyone else'
-----------------------------Dave's rules
-------------------------------------------
Per head to head competition:
50 points for finishing first
-10 points for incorrect blocks. We know they're incorrect because
they're
not in the square
+5 points for good block (whether on side or just in square, not
meshing)
+10 points for every perfect (meshing studs) block
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
we will run with these rules and work out any REAL bugs that creep up on
the day.

| K, heres the thingif we do head-to-head competitions, there are only 2 bots involved at a time. There will be one winner and one loser. Just like the block sorting bots--every bot will eventually play every other bot in subsequent heats. The (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
