Hello!

There are a lot of people who think Nazi uniforms, logos, designs, and
equipment were "cool".  That doesn't mean they want to be a Nazi or that
they think that the Nazi (aka: National Socialist German Workers Party)
ideals are similar to their own.

Yes. Those people think Nazi symbols and uniforms are cool because of the
background, not because of their sheer look. And who thinks things with that
background are "cool" is an idiot. That's what I think.
I don't deny the fascination of the whole Nazi issue. It _is_ an interesting
topic. Also I do not claim I would have been resistant against this fascination
back then, in the 30ies.
But nowadays we are in the privileged situation to _know_ what has happened. And
everybody who thinks anything involved into this is "cool" is dumb enough not
bearing in mind who was wearing those uniforms and logos and what they have
done. Even worse: They are bearing that in mind and find it cool nevertheless.
Or they even find it cool _because_ they have done those terrible things. And I
only can repeat myself: Who finds that cool is an idiot.

You claim to be against censorship - but you're willing to make exceptions.
One wonders what other human rights might be up for negotiation in your
mind.

I understand you want to say allusively that _I_ am the narrow-minded idiot who
wants to restrict people's human right of expressing their opinion? Well, maybe
I am. However, I think every individual's human right ends at the point where it
affects the human rights of another indidiual. And I felt offended by this
romanticising of the fascistic German Reich. It's everybody's right to be a
Nazi-sympathiser. And it's my right to hate them.

And yes, I'm against the censorship on BrickShelf. For my part this folder I
mentioned doesn't need to be removed. However, now that we have the censorship
it should at least be fair. So one person may find the picture of a female bosom
covered by a LEGO-shirt offensive (That's what started the whole censorship
affair on BS) because things like that poisen childeren's minds... Well, I don't
think so. I instead find glorification of fascism offensive and poisoning
people's minds. But that seems not to be an issue for the censors/moderators.
And that's why I started this topic.

It is common today to find anti-alien sentiment in society.  The anti-alien
platform was part of the foundation of the Nazi Party.  I find this much
more worrisome than a couple of red and gray Lego airplanes - especially
since so many supporters of our two major political parties seem to share
similar anti-alien views.
Nationalism regrettably seems to be a major theme in the upcoming
election...

The pictures of the LEGO creations aren't bad at all. It's the folder
description that I worry about.

Since I'm not American I'm not supposed to care about this upcoming election :-)

BTW. I think it's pretty evident that Keith Goldman does not glorify the Third
Reich with his Iron Reich. It's a slippery slope....

Bye
Jojo
