Wow -- if that turns out to be true in the long-term I think I am feeling
fairly outraged.  Bush has done nothing but use the whole crisis to boost
his popularity, and now it may be that he knew in advance.

Shades of what Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor -- except this time Bush
lacks any possible justifiable motive to enter us into a war.  O wait, maybe
it's just the businesses that he and his pals all profit from...

Can't argue with the $$$.

Can any thinking person actually, logically, believe that any sitting
president would look the other way while their country was attacked just for
economic gain? This goes beyond politics to basic human morality. I refuse
that any person in a position of responsibility would sit back and allow a
tragedy of this magnitude to happen. This falls among the lines of black
stealth helicopters flying over our cities, or CIA regulating the drug
trafficing in the US. Perhaps X-Files has run for too long, everyone is a
conspiracy theorist these days.

(Incidently I actually do kinda believe that the first moon landing was
filmed in a sound studio in Hollywood)

Heightened security? How much pressure do you (...) (22 years ago, 28-May-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) "The Prince" by Niccolò Machiavelli (URL) reading of "L’Histoire de Juliette, ou les Prospérités du Vice" by Comte Donatien Alphonse François De Sade wouldn't hurt either. Lacking a URL, I give you this: "The mechanism that directs government (...) (22 years ago, 31-May-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
