Oh yes...and it shows that LEGO use the Seppo names for sets instead of the
names they originally gave the sets.

Just out of curiousity, how do you know what the *original* names are? Or,
how do you know that the "seppo" (as you so charmingly call it) names
*aren't* the original names? I'd argue that many times, they are... for
example all the Star Wars(tm) sets are named the way they are based on the
elements from the films... for example Santa Fe Super Chief is named the way
it is (incorrectly) because of where it came from, and so on.

I think it's charming that LEGO chose to use different names in different
geographies. Charming, but not particularly practical, and rather
disparaging to the regions that got the special names instead of the normal
ones. I'm hoping the practice will be discontinued.

[waiting for the re-release of 7124: flash speeder...or another reasonably
priced set with brown cap...the Brictorians need them :)

I guess I am missing something here... This set came out in 2000, right?
Presumably you bought lots of copies of it then, and more recently while it
was still available, right? I saw it on sale as recently as 3 months ago, so
it might be a while before it gets rereleased, wouldn't you agree? It's not
quite as mainstream a set as the Xwing (which just came back out)...

(...) Incorrectly named because the set is a loco and not a train? True, but a far more glaring error is the Skull's Eye Schooner! And of course, the Black Seas Barracuda (or Dark Shark, for that matter) is not a fish either ;-) Cheers Richie (...) (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Ah, but what *you* see on sale and what *we* see on sale are two very different things! ROSCO (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Well...A search the library of useless information shows the following info: The "Dark Shark" [what most people mistakenly refer to as the "Black Seas Barracuda"]: 1989: released, unsure of price 1990: $199.95 1991: $239.95 1992: $239.95 (...) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
