Re: New legend is up —David Eaton
(...) Well, I dunno if it was *quite* an equal chance. Let's say they instigate another Legend vote and select as hopefuls: - 6836 V-Wing Fighter - 6399 Airport Shuttle - 2539 Batwing Flyer - 6256 Islander Catamaran Now, a vote it may be, but even (...)    (...) I'm sure part of the selection was because they wanted to include sets of different sizes. There also may be issues with production on the sets you mention.         Re: New legend is up —David Eaton
(...) Well, point of the example wasn't to say that it's the *same* as what was offered, but that just because there's a vote doesn't mean it's the voters' "fault". IE that it's possible for TLC to give certain nominees a better/worse chance of (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: New legend is up —Bruce Schlickbernd

Yes, but the counter-point was that all sets were highly rated and therefore it was still the fault of public opinion - if the Battrax was such a sure fire loser, perhaps people should rethink their rating of it.          Re: New legend is up —Steve Bliss
(...) Hmm. It may be true that there is no single archetypical Space set, but I can come up with a fair list of sets that I'd be happy to see as Legends.          Re: New legend is up —Richie Dulin
(...) Certainly a nice set for its time, with some nice pieces for its time (after all, inverse slopes were still something of a novelty in 1976). But only a classic "for it's time".
