The train hoax was clearly a hoax? I don't think I agree with that, I
never posted to that thread, but I followed it very closely. There was
quite a bit of heated discussion about the matter. When it was
revealed as a hoax, I know not everyone was laughing.

The AT-AT is another story, but it throws the idea out there that
posting false upcoming product information is a good idea. There are
perhaps some out there who can only read LUGNET thru a text based
mailing list, did they see the AT-AT pictures or were they looking
foward to seeing this new TLC product next year?

Eventually some lurker is going to find a new catalog and post about
it, only to have people say that its a hoax, only because of what has
happened in the past. I don't feel that calling people liars is a good
way to welcome them to the group.
