I've thought about the point that you raised regarding getting the Legos while,
as the saying goes, "the getting is good." I seriously wonder whether or not
there will be anything that I care to buy 5 years from now. I fear that my
collection will be like a time-warp box of relics to my grandchildren:
"Grandpa, did you really have to put those things together? Why???" "Grandpa,
don't those things have energy cells?" "Grandpa what is this thing called an
imagination that you keep telling us about?" "Grandpa, you mean kids used to
play with those things? But where are the view-screens?" "Grandpa, that crap
is boring." Anyway, I've digressed...I actually do purchase some sets (usually
small ones) for the sake of posterity...realizing that Legos may one day
drastically change, and I'd like to have absolutely as many roof peaks in as
many colors as possible before that day comes. Kind of like stocking a bomb
shelter or rationing oil reserves. (If only I'd had that foresight 20 years
ago...I'd have been stockpiling clear bricks.)
