I dare you to NOT buy every set you want.  I dare you to put a
ridiculously low monthly budget toward your Lego hobby and see how it • effects
the next time you buy a set.

It then becomes a painfully difficult decision:  Do I spend the money now,
or save it until I have enough to buy a larger set?  If I spend it, do I buy
bricks?  Try for completion in a theme?  Buy multiple sets for parts?  Buy
sets upon speculation?  Buy the newest set?  Buy the oldest set available?
Buy at *this* store, or look around for better bargains?  Do I buy it *now*
while it's here, or wait until it goes on sale?  Do I buy on the sale, or
should I wait for the clearance and hope it's still here?

If I save it, do I buy a new, large set?  Do I wait for clearance sales to
stock up on parts/speculation sets?  Do I order online using coupons?  Buy
an exclusive/rare set from S@H?  Waut until I have a couple of hunnert'
dollars to bid on the set from my childhood that I *still* dream about?

Oh yes, I know exactly how it effects the decsion-making process.

My next lego set is the River Expedition from the Adventure series. I know (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)

I have to be careful I don't fall into the "Ugly American" trap, assuming that most who are dealing with this issue are Americans. The main pitfall of our culture is overindulgence. We overeat, overspend, and fill our homes, garages and barns with (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)
