Im pretty excited about this too, but its probably a few years away from
the screen. It looks like theyve only aquired the rights to Enders Game
and Enders Shadow, and combining them to make one film.

Bicentennial Man was (not faithfully) adapted from Asimovs short story of the
same name, as well as his novel The Positronic Man.
Supposedly there are talks of doing something with Asimovs Foundation series,
and I Robot is currently filming (but only looks to be loosely following any of
Asimovs stories)
Rendezvous with Rama is in a production black hole currently.
Johnny Mnemonic was based on a short story by William Gibson. It bombed at the
theatre, because I think most people just didnt get it. Yeah, its corny, but
one of my guilty pleasures. I think its corniness is one of the things I like
about it. :D

And the monofilament whip was nifty... (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

What I want to see is a film version of Cherryh's Cyteen, or maybe Tripoint. 40K In Gehenna would be cool, (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space, lugnet.general, FTX)

| (...) I read a script once of a proposed movie based upon Isaac Asimov's short stories that never got to filming. The explanation was that Asimov's stories are very adult, concerning deeper issues and themes than most Hollywood sci-fi. (...)
