The LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) has validated a suitable LDraw parts header format proposed by the library admins to implement the Contributor Agreement (CA). I recently needed a set of 1-3 circular primitives (120 degrees) Before even addressing if these should be official primitives (as opposed to sub-parts), what do people consider the "best" way of constructing these? a) overlapping two 1-4 (or 3-16) (...) Most of the problems you saw are a result of the file being posted in FTX mode. You can eliminate all but two BFC errors by doing the following: Click the "View Raw Message" link at the top right of Thomas's post Select all the DAT code Copy the (...) There have been two versions of this part: (URL) an older type with rectangular edges> and (URL) a newer type with rounded edges>, each one accepting a differend type of piston rod. (...) So you're having trouble with the "right hand" part, 43711.dat? There is no "mirror" of s\43710s01.dat - the reference from 43711.dat to the subfile does the mirroring. XFUT lugnet.admin.general (...) This is odd. When viewing my original posting through the web interface, the backslash between 'ldraw' and 'parts' is not displayed. I've tried downloading the files & subfiles (one subfile is missing-can't remember which now) & can't get them to work; onlt a stud shows up in MLcad jeff (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

As a parts-admin, my view is that while it is better to not overlap surfaces, in some cases the complications required to avoid overlapping are not worth it. So it (...) What is the policy on overlapping primitives in a part? Is it OK? Is it frowned upon? Is it accepted as the norm? Is it only accepted under exceptional circumstances? Would it be useful to add a check-box to the Parts Tracker review page to indicate if the comment indicates need for Admin intervention. eg "Certify - Looking good!" wouldn't have the flag set, but "Certify - please add spaces before the dimensions" (...) Thanks to the work of several parts authors (Kevin Clague, Steve Bliss, Matthias Paul Scholz and myself) who were in Mindstorms Developer Program, mockups of NXT parts were modelled in LDraw. It searches for subparts relative to the part location ../p/, ../parts/, ../parts/s/. What are the official and unofficial folders called? (...) Here's the weird thing. I had the subpart in both the main ldrawpartss folder and also the unofficial folder. But I only had the main file in the official folder.
